Goodbye 2018, it has been a good ride.
It has been a ride full of ups and downs – there were moments i felt my guts being twisted together and my heart being grasped in a tight fist, but also moments i was simply busking in happiness and gratitude.
Through it all, I’m beyond thankful, for i know i’m infinitely blessed. I am abundant and I am enough. 🙂
Let’s walk down the memory lane together!
first time meeting his parents and family!
i figured, if i am not willing to pay much for a haircut, and the cheap haircut is going to be crappy, then why not do it myself?
This was also the year i started to go on my lesser-waste journey! So far so good – reusable bag, menstrual cup, metal straws, lunchbox, etc. etc. (More on this next time!) It always feels good to know that you are contributing to a greater cause (aka not contributing to a global problem). 🙂
The next few months are simply a blur, thanks to honours thesis hurhur #lastsemwoes, but really thankful to my luv for being there with me throughout! ❤
Oh thank God, for i don’t know how i would have gone through this without some divine help. Also, *pats self on back* thank you self, and friends and loved ones for the little pushes of encouragement along the way 🙂

Grad trip to Australia – Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast. I miss the feels there quite a bit! And the food – omg the food!!! – was so good! Had the best vegan pizza in ma life, and also this really good pasta *salivating*
Put up my first skit performance as scriptwriter, director and lead character! Blessed with the opportunity, and also great teammates and friends who helped along the way 🙂 Although the preparation was kinda crazy, hella difficult and met with many bumps and hair-pulling moments, we did it!!! yay!!!

Then came graduation! I remember feeling so happy and beaming with pride that day – i never imagined i would be so happy on that occasion. So, so thankful! 🙂
Then… i did something i had been wanting to do since JC days – shave my head! We went to this event called Hair For Hope organised by the Children’s Cancer Foundation, and got our heads shaven. It felt scary, but also liberating after. As a Chinese saying goes, our hair is like threads of troubles 煩惱絲, so perhaps it’s really true, for i felt so much lighter after that.
First prize ever in uni, and although it may not seem much, i am brimming with bliss and pride. Getting your effort and work recognised feels good. 🙂 The only other time i got rewarded for academic achievement was back in secondary school, when i started to get serious about my studies hahaha.
Trip that got me back to speaking Hindi, and provided many learning opportunities! I have “mothers” there now hehehe, can’t wait to go back to see them! 🙂
More of the free haircuts at home hehe, i don’t think i’ll ever go to a salon ever againnnnn, unless to really get my hair done.
First time attending the official “opening” of a big temple. To put in a few words, it was… Grand. Touching. Warm.
We took a flight from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh to begin a new trip there. It was adventurous and pretty fun!
It was a short trip but nothing short of amazing. A little crazy cause of the winds and rain, but overall really heartwarming nonetheless. 🙂
When I’m not overseas, i was mostly either working or catching up with friends. Generally, i think i spent more time with people this year than with myself, and i really appreciate the people who always love me and believe in me – even though y’all don’t always say it.
Last but not least, i would like to specially thank ma luv for always being there, at every step of the way. It isn’t the big stuff that touches me, but the little stuff that reminds me how lucky i am to have you. Thank you luv ❤
This year, I shall gear up even more on my journey to lesser waste, lesser things and a fuller heart! #minimalism #zerowaste hahaha
I shall not buy new things unless 1. it is on sale or on my wishlist for an extended period of time, 2. if I really have to replace an old item that is unfixable and 3. if I’m unable to get it 2nd hand or preloved.
All in all, I hope to give more and think less, thank more and worry less, appreciate more and buy less, repair/fix more and waste less, exercise more and nua less, eat better and sleep earlier. Most importantly, with every day that passes, I hope to grow a little bit more and grow closer to God.
Here’s to more adventures this year and an ever-thankful heart!
